EEA (EØS) 4.1 - application for document PD U1

If you need a document PD U1 to apply for unemployment benefits in another EEA country, Switzerland, the UK, or the Faroe Islands, you must submit form EEA 4.1 and inform us of the Danish employment periods for which you need confirmation.

You only need to send form EEA 4.1 to us if you were not a member of a Danish unemployment insurance fund (a-kasse) while working in Denmark. If you were a member of an unemployment insurance fund while working in Denmark, you must contact the insurance fund.

You can also ask your former employer to send the information to us digitally on www.virk.dk. If you had more than one employer, each employer must provide information about your previous employment.

In any case, it may shorten our processing time if we receive information from your former employer immediately, as this will mean that we do not have to send a request for information to your former employer.
